What if I forget the backup key?

Backup key is a phrase consisting of 12 words, which is used to generate private key. Private key is the proof of ownership of cryptocurrency assets and enables access to the assets.

If you forget the backup key, it is impossible to restore the wallet for the structural reason of blockchain.

◎If you have the device that you installed Ginco to and remember the passcode

You can see the backup key with the following steps:

1. Start Ginco
2. Tap the icon at the top right of the home screen
3. Tap “Privacy & Security”
4. （iOS）Tap “Backup Phrase”　 (Android) Tap “Show Backup Phrase”
5. （iOS）Enter the passcode　
6. Write down the backup key in the correct order. Spelling mistakes or mistaking orders could result in losing your assets.
7. After completing, tap “Next”
8. Enter the backup key in the correct order
9. After completing, tap “Next”
10. （iOS）Tap “Close”　 (Android) Tap “Back to top” 

◎If you have changed or lost the device, or if the device is unable to boot 

It is impossible to restore your assets for structural reason of Ginco. Please be very careful handling the backup key.
